SnickityBit Solutions LLC ("we", "us", or "our") built RampMeet to help pilots connect locally around their airports. This Privacy Policy explains what information the RampMeet app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Privacy is a core design principle of RampMeet, not an afterthought. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and we deliberately leave out the surveillance and engagement machinery common to social apps.
RampMeet is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. By using RampMeet, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
To create and operate your account, we collect a small amount of information — most of it provided directly by you:
- Account identity — when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password, we receive a unique account identifier and your email address. We use Apple's and Google's standard sign-in; we never see your Apple or Google password.
- Profile details — your display name, and optionally a profile photo and aircraft details such as type, tail number, and photo. RampMeet also uses your home airport to connect you with the appropriate airport community. You can change your home airport, but RampMeet may require one to use certain core features. Optional profile details can be changed or removed at any time.
- Content you create — the circles, events, posts, recommendations, direct and circle messages, and any photos or files you choose to share to an event in the app.
- Device notification tokens — if you enable notifications, the push token your device needs to receive them.
- Limited diagnostics — basic crash and error reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) that help us fix problems. These do not include the contents of your messages.
Your email address is stored privately and is never shown to other users.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To operate core features — circles, events, posts, recommendations, and messaging.
- To deliver notifications you've asked for, such as new messages or circle activity.
- To keep the community safe — to review reports, enforce our Terms, and respond to abuse.
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
3. Our Privacy Commitments
RampMeet is intentionally not social media. By design:
- Your email address is never shown publicly.
- There are no public profiles and no searchable member directory.
- Direct messages stay inside the app — they are private between you and the people in the conversation.
- There are no likes, followers, public reactions, or public feeds.
- Your profile is visible only to members of your circles — there is no public profile to manage. Optional details such as your aircraft and tail number are yours to add or remove at any time; your home airport can be changed at any time, though RampMeet may require one to use certain core features.
Direct messages are not public. They are visible to the conversation participants and may be accessed by us when necessary to operate, secure, support, moderate, investigate abuse, respond to reports, enforce our Terms, or comply with law. RampMeet does not claim that messages are end-to-end encrypted.
4. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited ways:
With Other Users. Content you post to a circle is visible to that circle's members, and your profile details are visible only to members of your circles. An event's host can choose to keep its attendee list private. Direct messages are visible only to their participants.
With Service Providers. We use providers that run the app on our behalf — Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, cloud functions, push messaging, crash reporting, and website hosting) and Apple (Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery). These providers process data under their own privacy terms and only to provide their service to us.
For Legal and Safety Reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to investigate, prevent, or address abuse, fraud, security, or threats to anyone's safety.
5. Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we use Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver alerts such as new messages and circle activity. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device's settings.
6. Location
RampMeet does not continuously track your location. Your home airport and aircraft details are information you choose to provide. If RampMeet later adds optional device-location features, the app will request permission and explain how that location is used.
7. Reports and Moderation
If you report content, messages, users, vendors, events, or recommendations, information related to that report may be reviewed by us for safety, support, moderation, enforcement, and legal compliance.
8. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account.
When you delete your account, we permanently remove your account, your private profile details (including your email and notification tokens), and your membership in circles. This cannot be undone.
Circles you created will remain available to their other members after you leave, so the community you started isn't lost. Messages and posts you sent may remain visible to the people you shared them with.
9. Security
We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules to protect access to your data, and we transmit data over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
10. Children's Privacy
RampMeet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- Edit or remove your display name, profile photo, and aircraft details at any time.
- Change your home airport at any time (RampMeet may require a home airport to use certain core features).
- Block other users and report abusive content.
- Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Delete your account, which removes your personal data as described above.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version with a new effective date, and significant changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate. Continued use of RampMeet after an update means you accept the revised policy.
